Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Brushpile is a research workbench. You capture snippets from the web into projects, and AI helps you organize and synthesize them. This policy explains what we collect and why. We keep it short and honest.

What we collect

  • Your email, used for magic-link sign-in and account communication.
  • Content you save — the text, page content, screenshots, links, and notes you explicitly capture into your projects.
  • Usage data — basic product analytics (pages viewed, features used) to improve the app. We do not sell this.
  • Billing data — handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

The browser extension

The Brushpile extension only sends data to Brushpile when you explicitly capture something (a highlight, page, screenshot, or link). It does not read or transmit your browsing in the background. It reads your Brushpile login session from the Brushpile website so you don't have to log in twice.

AI processing

To summarize, categorize, and synthesize your captures, the relevant content is sent to Anthropic's Claude API. Anthropic processes it to return a result and does not train on it. We log token counts for billing, not the content of AI requests.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored in Supabase (Postgres + object storage) with row-level security, so only you can access your own projects, snippets, and syntheses.

Your control

You can export any project to Markdown at any time, and delete snippets, projects, or your account. Deleting your account removes your data. No lock-in — your data is yours.
